Super Duplex Steel Ball Valves are quarter-turn shut-off valves made for high-temperature, high-pressure, and very corrosive conditions. A precision-machined spherical ball with a central bore through its axis rotates in a super duplex steel ball valve.
The ball is positioned inside the valve body and supported by seats, which are usually composed of metal or reinforced soft materials. The ball spins such that the bore either aligns with the pipeline, enabling fluid to flow straight through with little pressure drop, or turns perpendicular to the flow channel, closing the passage entirely, when the valve handle or actuator is rotated 90 degrees.
Even at high pressure, the sealing mechanism's close contact between the ball surface and the valve seats produces a leak-tight cutoff.Depending on the design, stem packing stops leaks to the atmosphere, while upstream pressure presses the ball on the downstream seat to improve sealing.
